BAHRAIN, June 27 (World Daily Times) — Bahrain said Iranian drones entered its territory on Saturday, prompting condemnations from the Gulf Cooperation Council and several Gulf governments that said the attack threatened regional security and peace efforts.

Bahrain’s Foreign Ministry described the strike as a “flagrant threat” to the kingdom’s security and said Iran bore responsibility for undermining peace efforts.

GCC Secretary-General Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi called the attack “treacherous.” Kuwait’s Foreign Ministry said the strikes were “a dangerous undermining of endeavors for peace and stability” and a threat to regional security, while Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates also condemned the attack in separate statements.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guard said on state television that it had targeted several locations “of the U.S. terrorist army in the region.”
