DETROIT, June 22 (Our Michigan Times) — Chevrolet has unveiled the next-generation 2027 Silverado 1500, saying the pickup will be the “most powerful Silverado ever” when it reaches buyers later this year.
The automaker said the truck will add next-generation 5.7-liter and 6.6-liter V8 engines while continuing to offer four powertrain choices. Those include the enhanced 2.7-liter TurboMax and the Duramax 3.0-liter turbo-diesel, which Chevrolet describes as class-exclusive.
Chevrolet also said the 2027 Silverado 1500 now offers the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 engine in its class. The company did not release horsepower, torque or fuel-economy figures in the announcement.
Inside the truck, Chevrolet says every 2027 Silverado 1500 will come with a modern digital cockpit featuring a 16.3-inch center display and a 12.2-inch driver information center. ZR2 and High Country trims add an 11.5-inch front-passenger screen and are paired with a head-up display and rear camera mirror, according to Chevrolet.
The company said the lineup will include seven models: ZR2, High Country, Trail Boss, Silverado, Custom Trail Boss, Custom and WT.
Chevrolet said the truck is expected to go on sale at the end of this year, with pricing to be announced later.
