WASHINGTON, June 25 (DC Times Online) — Consumers with frozen meatloaf meals in their freezers are being told to check labels after the U.S. Department of Agriculture said nearly 5,795 pounds were recalled because soy was not listed on the package.
The Food Safety and Inspection Service said the recalled meals are 13.3-ounce vacuum-sealed trays labeled “POWER PLATE MEALS MEATLOAF WITH GARLIC MASHED POTATOES” with use-by dates from June 25, 2026, through June 10, 2027. The packages carry establishment number “217SEND” inside the USDA mark of inspection.
FSIS said Power Plate Meals LLC produced the meals between June 25, 2025, and June 10, 2026, and shipped them to distributors in Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota.
The agency said the recall began after a state inspector notified FSIS that soy, a known allergen, had been left off the ingredients list. FSIS said there have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions linked to the recalled products.
FSIS said some affected meals may still be stored in consumers’ freezers. It told consumers not to eat the products and to throw them away or return them to the place of purchase.
