Soccer match near the goal: multiple players in white and dark kits cluster by the net as the play unfolds.

INGLEWOOD, Calif., June 26 (Our Los Angeles) — The United States men’s national team lost 3-2 to Türkiye in Los Angeles, but the result did not change its path in the tournament: the Americans had already clinched first place in Group D and are set to meet Bosnia and Herzegovina in the round of 32.

FIFA’s official match report listed the game at SoFi Stadium before 70,492 fans. Türkiye got the late winner from Kaan Ayhan after a back-and-forth match that also included goals from Arda Güler and Barış Alper Yılmaz.

Auston Trusty scored for the United States, and Sebastian Berhalter added another to keep the Americans in the game.

The U.S. enters the knockout round as the Group D winner, and FIFA’s schedule has the team opening that stage against Bosnia and Herzegovina on July 1 in Santa Clara, California.
